The 2016 FR Tomlinson Lecture was delivered by Prof Charles Machethe. The theme of the lecture was: “The Agricultural Economics discipline in a socially transforming South Africa: Status, effects, responses and the future”.
Prof Machethe began his career in 1980 at the University of Fort Hare. He is currently the Professor of Agricultural Economics at the University of Pretoria, where he is also the Director of the Postgraduate School of Agriculture & Rural Development, University of Pretoria.
