The programme of providing awards to the best performers has been with the Association for a long time and is regarded as a good way to encourage members to participate in the events of the Association and contribute to the profession.

The 2025 Annual Conference of the Agricultural Economics Association of South Africa (AEASA) will be hosted by the Gauteng Province from the 29th September to 1st October 25 at River Meadows Manor, in Irene, Pretoria. The theme of this year’s Conference is “Market concentration and competition law in agriculture: Experience and lessons”.

INVITATION FOR APPLICATIONS FOR A PhD BURSARY IN AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS (2025 ACADEMIC YEAR)
The Agricultural Economics Association of South Africa (AEASA) established the BD Nomvete Bursary Trust Fund with the aim to provide financial support for students to complete a PhD programme in Agricultural Economics or an approved related discipline.
The Trust will allocate a bursary to a successful PhD applicant for the 2025 academic year. The bursary amount is R50 000 per annum per student over two years, with maximum of three years.
A SUCCESSFUL AEASA GP CHAPTER POLICY DIALOGUE EVENT

AEASA Gauteng Chapter, together with the NAMC and other stakeholders, held an event on the 3rd of July 2024, to discuss strategies for protecting and promoting South Africa’s agriculture amidst geopolitical changes.
